This 8 LP silver box set was released to mark the 25th Anniversary of Elvis signing for RCA (1955 - 1980). A replica of Elvis' signature was embossed on the front of the box. The material inside covered the 25 year period from his early live performances in the fifties to his later concert appearances in the seventies. Each set was numbered and came with a detailed 20 page booklet.

20 page booklet
NOTE: NEW BLACK LABEL REPRESSINGS ...
Up until this point, RCA had replaced some of their orange label LP's, by repressing them on the blue elvis label. But in August 1980, they began replenishing any gaps found in their catalogue by repressing using a "new black label". It retained the "stamped" vertical RCA logo, synonymous on the orange label since 1969, but now the word "Victor" that was positioned to the right of the spindle hole had been omitted.

First pressings of this new black label were mostly cut at the U.K. Washington plant, and like the blue label, came with the words "MANUFACTURED BY RCA LIMITED" on the bottom of the label. Later repressings updated this to read "MARKETED BY RCA LIMITED".

NOTE: New LP releases continued to bear the blue elvis label.
