This LP contained some of Elvis' finest recordings. All of them recorded in his breakthrough year, 1956.

Label change: RCA, with the release of this album, decided to change the long standing orange Victor label that was in place since 1969. They introduced a new personalised blue 'elvis' label instead across their range of albums and singles. This label would also be chosen for re-pressings of various older LP's.
NOTE: Some albums were still released on the orange label after this one. Eventually that label was phased out.
