This fabulous album could be described as "a fly on the wall" peek at Elvis at work in the recording studio. A lot of Elvis' early recorded "outtakes" were normally taped over or destroyed by RCA as they were not meant for public consumption. So, this "find" of binaural tapes were originally marked for erasure, as they were only intended to be used as safety copies. Thankfully that never happened and we have these outtakes in top class sound, mastered by expert engineer "Boppin'" Bob Jones. It was deleted in October 1993.
NOTE: The compact disc version of this album had 5 bonus master tracks in mono added to the tracklisting: "I Believe", "Tell Me Why", "Got A Lot O' Livin' To Do!", "All Shook Up" and "Take My Hand, Precious Lord".

This album originally released in the U.K. in March 1959, was simply titled "Elvis" (RD 27120). RCA now issued it using the original U.S. title; "For LP Fans Only". So this LP is not a re-issue in the strictest terms. As before, first variations of "NL" albums continued to use special price stickers to promote that they were less expensive than the full price "PL" LP's. It was deleted in March 1992.
