This soundtrack album went on to become Elvis' biggest seller to date. This crystalised the idea of the Elvis "soundtrack formula" going forward in the Colonel's mind. Great for lining everyones pockets, not so for the artistic side of things. The formula was now: Lot's of average songs, girls and a exotic location. Creativity aside, Elvis had a strong affection for the Hawaiian islands, returning their many times both professionally and personally.
