Even though it bore the same title, this album is not a re-issue of the original Christmas album. Firstly the four gospel tracks were omitted and replaced with two new songs: "If Every Day Was Like Christmas" originally released as an A-sided single in 1966 and "Mama Liked the Roses" which recently accompanied the "Wonder of You" single in July. The front cover used a publicity shot from the movie "Speedway".

*** RCA album re-issues/re-pressings ***

RCA decided to replenish their Elvis library. Some albums up to this point, had continually remained in stock, while others were deleted from the catalogue. Going forward, certain LP's still retained their catalogue numbers, while others were re-issued with new covers and new catalogue numbers.

Released: November 1970:

Sound Format: electronic stereo

UK Album No: (43)

Original release: October 1958:

mono (RB 16069) (07)

Originally released as a mono album in October 1958, this LP, a consistent big seller, was deleted from catalogue by RCA just two months earlier. This release was repackaged with a new catalogue number and presented in "electronic stereo" instead of mono. The classic front cover was now updated with a more recent image taken from the 1968 NBC TV Special. There was no booklet with this version.

NOTE: This LP was issued using the matrix number M2WY. This version was given the M2 (1961) and WY matrix due to it's "electronic stereo" makeover in 1961.

M2 = 1961     WY = Stereo LP

Side 1: M2WY 4733     Side 2: M2WY 4734

NOTE: This album was kept in stock by re-pressings using this catalogue number. It was later assigned a new number when released on the International Label in 1981.
